White Oil, Excavations and the Disappearance of the West Bank

Biography:

Judy Price’s films and installations explore how sites and locations are interweaved and striated by a multiple histories, economies and forces. A focus of her practice for many years has been Israel and Palestine and how art can create new perceptions of the experiences of individuals and cultures as well as arts’ effectiveness and relevance to collective struggles.
Her work has been presented at the Barbican, Imperial War Museum, Kunshaus Cinema in Nürnberg, USF Centre Bergen and Al-Ma’mal Foundation for Contemporary Art, Palestine among others. She is senior lecturer in moving image at the University of Brighton and a visiting lecturer at the International Academy of Arts, Palestine. She studied Fine Art at Central St Martins and the Royal College of Art and was Associate Post-Grad Researcher in Media Arts Philosophy and Practice at Greenwich University. In December 2013 she was awarded a PhD from the University of Brighton.
