Ruinscapes and the Nuclear Uncanny in Artist Moving Image
Sophie Hoyle is an artist and writer based in London. She has recently written on ‘Transnationalism, Diaspora and Digital Mediation’ for Interartive (2013), artist and non-artist participation and collaboration for We Were Trying To Make Sense (2013) and on the Contemporary Sublime written for Sublimation: An Exercise in the Immersive at Oboro, Montreal (2012). She has recently given talks on Visual Technologies, Artistic Subversion and the Contemporary Urban (One Day in the City, UCL, 2012) and on Film and Video Technology in Representing the ‘Real’ (SELCS Conference, UCL, 2012). She is currently taking an MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths University.
